How to Get Into COMSATS: 2026 Admissions Guide

50% in FSc. NTS weightage is 50%. Multiple attempts allowed. NAT-IM/ICOM valid for some degrees. Secondary drawing exam for Architecture.

Application Timeline

For the 2026 academic year, COMSATS's application window is open for the Fall / Spring session. The primary admission drive occurs between Jul.

Entry Test Details

Securing admission highly depends on your performance in the NAT-IE & NAT-ICS. Make sure you prepare specifically for this format, as it usually carries a massive weightage in the final merit calculation.

Pro Tip for COMSATS

Try to gather all your intermediate equivalence certificates and domicile paperwork long before the Jul window opens so you aren't delayed on submission day.

Getting into the COMSATS University Islamabad is highly competitive but entirely possible with the right strategy. COMSATS relies on entry test, the NAT-IE and NAT-ICS.

Understanding the NAT

The NAT is conducted for 2 series (NAT-IE and NAT-ICS) for Pre-Engineering and ICS Students. Pre-Medical students admitted to computing or engineering programs must pass additional non-credit mathematics courses during their first year.

  • MCQs-based: The test is based on MCQs from different subjects and held at the applied campus
  • Best Score Counts: You can take the test one time(if giving through comsats else you can give NTS multiple time) , and COMSATS will automatically pick score for the final merit list. And if going through NTS, you just attach your NTS result with your application form and COMSATS will automatically pick score for the final merit list.

Merit Calculation Formula

COMSATS uses a very specific aggregate formula for engineering:

  1. NTS Score: 50% weightage
  2. HSSC / A-Level / FSc : 40% weightage
  3. SSC / O-Level / Matric: 10% weightage

Because the entry test makes up 50% of your final aggregate, you should dedicate 90% of your prep time specifically to mastering the NTS syllabus and also focus on your FSc/A-Levels.
